Here in the USA in the 1970's this was called gauze fabric. One of my favs. I try to buy 100% cotton always. This is a wonderful dress. Cotton, comfy, lovely colors. The material is nice and heavy so no worries about see-through. It's generously sized- I had to return my original purchase for a smaller size. I don't normally like buying clothes without seeing them so I dithered for a while about buying this but I am very happy with it.
