In Bali, where the practice of making robes by hand has been passed down for generations, the traditional method of batik is a signature style. The Batik Tulis, for example, is a technique that utilizes wax-resistant dye that is then applied directly to the cloth. It is an intricate, patient process that can produce extraordinarily detailed pieces. Batik Cap is another classic technique where a copper stamp is repeatedly pressed with the wax-resistant dye onto the cloth. This process creates patterns on the garment that are then dip-dyed to saturate color into the unwaxed parts of the robe. Because silk is a light-weight, water-resistant fiber, it provides the wearer a sense of luxury and comfort. Rayon is a natural-based material made up of an organic compound derived from cotton extract or wood pulp. This fiber is extremely durable, breathable, and cost effective. Cotton is celebrated for its comfortability and elasticity, and it provides excellent insulation. These fibers make for garments that exude luxury and relaxation.

Birthday present for myself!
I decided to treat myself for my birthday with the Ocean Symphony Batik robe. It is truly a treat! The colors are as represented, a lovely ocean themed combination of aqua, royal blue and purple with some lighter shades. It's a joy to wear. The fabric is nice and solid, but not heavy, stiff, or flimsy like some batiks. The fit is fine and very comfortable. I am most impressed with the craftsmanship, though. Every seam is enclosed, including the pockets and front placket and shaping seams. This type of french seam will ensure that no fraying occurs. I plan to enjoy this lovely robe for a very long time. Many thanks to the artist who created this beautiful piece!

So Beautiful!
I haven't been this happy about a purchase in a really long time. This robe is soft and comfortable...just lovely. Additionally, it was thoughtfully packaged in a cool cloth bag with a note of appreciation from the artist. It felt as though my purchase was valued.

On A Blue Note
Today my ? Through The Seas?, robe arrived. I bought this for my sister, who is turning 70 next month, and like orders I have placed in the past, I want to keep this one as well . ? Beautiful, as well as comfortable, this unique robe is one of a kind. I like knowing that all the robes and jackets are made individually. They are cut, printed , colored and sewn, so no two are alike. You feel special walking around this beautiful robe.
