This lovely flute from Balinese artisan Made Sudiasa is carefully crafted with lightweight bamboo. Sudiasa then paints the flute with a Barong image in black, a masked figure who appears at times of celebration in Bali. For the Balinese, Barong is the symbol of health and good fortune.

Made Sudiasa of Bali crafts this flute by hand until the sound is just right, using bamboo and coconut shell. The flute is then painted with red and metallic gold paint, and looks as lovely as it sounds.
