Carbonell paints in an expressionist style, choosing colors of purple, green, and blue to represent the monkey's fur. Says the artist, "As a tour guide in the jungles of Costa Rica, I am often in contact with these beautiful and innocent creatures. Their gaze always draws my attention; it seems sad, and always strongly fixed on its subject, whether it be a fruit, a leaf, or the tallest branch of a tree. This charming cotton stool by Indian designer Ganpat Mehta is handembroidered by women artisans in Rajasthan, India’s colorful “Land of Kings.” Standing atop acacia wood feet, the stool’s intricate stitching features a mandala - a Hindu representation of the universe and a guide on the path to enlightenment.

Afroza Ishaq creates the exquisite design guided by hear father's teachings and in a tradition unique to Kashmir, where walnut grows. The wood is left to dry for up to three weeks before the master carver can work on it. This jewelry box is lined, has a removable tray, and has a discreet locking system that can be opened by sliding to the right.

Guided only by the radiant glow of moonlight, the nocturnal owl takes to the sky, led by her natural instinct to seek a quick meal for her and her young. The fly-by-night nature of the wise bird is captured in this pendant necklace in beautiful detail by Made Wardika. The circular pendant features a smiling crescent-moon hand-carved from bone, with a sterling silver owl family perched beside on a blooming branch. Below sits a faceted one-carat garnet in a setting of Balinese swirls and granules.

Designed by Shashi Sehgal, a lovely cushion cover tells a story of ancient life in India. Herders guided their flocks to graze in lush grasslands bordering the Thar Desert. For coverlets, the women created quilts of layered fabric, stitched by hand in a technique known as gudri-making or hand quilting. This quilted cushion cover is created in the same way of cotton voile.

The motifs are created with block prints, applied by hand in blue on ivory. Neat rows of flowers represent the unbroken lineage of tradition handed down over generations. Finished with piping, the edges are scalloped and the stitching is done by hand.

A zipper at the bottom of the cushion cover opens to insert the cushions.
