Lavish floral motifs are popular and they are often embroidered by hand with aari embroidery, a type of chain stitch. The flowers are traced on the fabric and a needle with a hooked end is used to push colorful threads through the fabric from behind. Each time the needle is pulled up, it brings up a loop of thread, and the loops are linked consecutively.

Gorgeous striking color with striking pattern. Just received today - can't wait for winter. It is medium weight, as another reviewer pointed out, but it will be very warm. (This is not my first alpaca blend poncho/ruana from Alfredo Falcon.)

Lovely Color

I purchased this poncho for the lovely blue color. I think it is most suitable to wear it at home when sitting on the computer during the cold months. I don't think it would be suitable to wear it in the workplace. Thank you!

At last. A new alpaca poncho!

Your product arrived timely and in good condition. I had an alpaca poncho back in the 80's but I lost it in moving. It's very nice to have one again. My friends already love it. Someday I may try for a vicuna, but this works fine for me. We don't get too cold in DC, and layering with a wool poncho works so well. Thank you.
