Wonderful tiny creatures

A treasured gift for a friend
This was a gift for a friend of mine who read the book "Old Turtle" during Children's Time at church. I loved the book! The expression on this turtle made me smile... It was a perfect choice. I have several "old" Oaxacan Alebrije turtles that have special meaning to me -- so I bought her a new turtle. Buy now (only one left) as these treasures sell out quickly.
Better than the picture
This substantial little turtle is more a fine example of alebrije without having the slightly menacing look of many of them. the detail is amazing, and the expression on its face is wonderful - both knowing and olayful. The colors fit well with current decor while retaining a folk art feel.
