Creating a floral daydream, blossoms border a hand-loomed shawl from Syed Izaz Hussein. The motifs are a superb example of fine aari embroidery, which resembles a chain stitch.

A bird sings a song of joy amidst colorful floral blossoms and verdant leaves in this lovely wool shawl designed by artisan Arnab Roy in India. Bright shades of blue, purple, green, brown, magenta, turquoise and black come together on a grey base on the central panel of the fringed shawl which features a blue border. The patterns are screen-printed while the flowers are outlined with delicate stitching accents.

Birds of all kinds perch on the generous branches of the Tree of Life. Surrounded by crimson blossoms, the feathered songsters join in a joyous celebration of nature. Working on a traditional Andean handloom, master weaver Eliazar Ochoa transforms virgin wool into a splendid wall hanging.
