As you can see in my photo, I removed the locket from the leather necklace and hung it on a 30" silver necklace and I absolutely love it! This locket is beautifully designed and is actually solid and quite heavy. A perfect sized locket to store a loved one's ashes or whatever you choose to store in it. I love the way it hangs on my chest with the longer necklace. Although the leather necklace is beautifully designed, I was afraid it would come loose since the leather necklace's silver closures are not a secured, traditional lock. Also, I thought the locket would look better on a silver rope and I'm glad I made the sacrifice to cut the leather necklace since that was the only way to remove the locket from it. Lastly, it's very easy to open the locket but you will never have to worry about it opening accidentally since the fitting of the two piece locket is very snug and secure with a twisting technique. The locket is a very high quality piece of art that I will cherish forever!

I am a repeat customer of Mr. Makarim's pieces. They are always so finely crafted and this particular necklace pairs so beautifully with the matching carnelian earrings, "Temple Lantern." Originally I was slightly worried if the necklace clasp would stay, but I have worn this constantly for more than a year and I have never experienced any difficulty with it. It is a beautiful piece of jewelry and will treasure it always.
