This kind of master handcrafting is so beautiful but difficult to find in the USA. I was especially touched by M. Ayub?s write up about the Kashmir Valley and how he learned his craft which was historically passed from one generation to the next but attracts fewer and fewer artisans these days. This hand carved box really caught my attention when I saw it online. And I was not disappointed when it arrived in the mail! It is beautiful! The craftsmanship is stunning. I feel privileged to have such a piece of art in my home. Knowing that this was hand crafted with intention and time makes it unique, special, and so valuable to me. I really enjoyed reading the biographical information about the artisan. Now when I hold the box in my hands I think of the artist who crafted it. I’ve already purchased another style of box from this artisan as a gift for a friend! I’d love to purchase more in the future!

I ordered this to the UK and it arrived on time and very carefully packaged and presented. I am very pleased with my purchase- the craftsmanship and intricacy of the design is beautiful. It is a very sturdy and well constructed box and really high quality. The wood is finished well and very smooth. The interior is the only aspect that it falls slightly short of expectation: the velvet ring holder is made of cardboard and falls out easily exposing the wood beneath but this is only a minor issue and you can easily glue this back in. All in all a very well made and high quality jewellery box.
