Yuni Kristina replicates the legendary kawung batik pattern for this crimson shawl of silken textures. Dating back to the 13th century, the kawung features floral motifs in intersecting circles. The pattern was once exclusive to the royal court of the Sultan of Jogjakarta.

Several days are spent to create this floral batik silk masterpiece. Artisan Yuni Kristina learned the art of Indonesian batik, a UNESCO cultural treasure, from her mother.

Made Arsana of Bali weaves a shawl in 100% cotton, perfect for a light layering piece. With crimson red and avocado green stripes on gunmetal grey, the wrap culminates in a delicate fringe.

Yuni Kristina draws on millennial Balinese traditions to create this exquisite shawl. Working in batik on silk, she combines modern motifs in red and orange. The elegant patterns are stamped by hand and fringe finishes the lovely wrap.

Each motif is created by hand, as evidenced by the occasional pencil mark or slight color variations.
