Created by Gunadi in Java, these centerpiece bowls showcase Javanese batik art. A large, medium, and small bowl are carved from wadang wood. Flowers and cherry motifs are applied using the batik method, where a wax resist is painted onto each bowl before it is treated with colorful dyes.

A deep crimson field blooms with the subtle movements of blue and white flowers, their scalloped outlines bordered in gilded splendor. The work requires intense patience, as Asunta Pelaez executes the composition on the reverse side of glass panes. Reflecting the artistic traditions of Cajamarca, Peru, this piece offers a luminous accent to any décor.

Subtle color distinguishes these beautiful fertility dolls. Nana Frimpong depicts a pair of twins. In Ghana, such figures are believed to assist a woman who wants to conceive a baby. Frimpong names the pair Panin (elder twin) and Kakra (younger twin) in the Akan language.
